A tragic incident occurred in Cross Lanes, West Virginia on Monday morning, where a man was shot and killed while checking on his daughter. The victim has been identified as Billie Joe Parker, a 52-year-old resident of Spencer. According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies, Parker had driven to Cross Lanes to see his daughter, who had been involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, Alexander James Hall.
When Parker arrived at Carleton Court Apartments, his daughter was not present, but Hall was. A fight ensued between Parker and Hall, escalating to the point where Hall pulled out a gun and shot Parker twice. Tragically, Parker succumbed to his injuries and died. No charges have been filed yet, as the investigation is still ongoing.
The deputies had actually been on their way to serve a warrant on Hall for the domestic dispute that occurred earlier in the day between him and Parker’s daughter. They had advised her to file for a protection order and leave the residence, which she did.
Upon arriving at the scene, the deputies found Parker gravely injured. Hall has been questioned by authorities and is currently facing a domestic battery charge. The Kanawha County prosecutors are currently consulting with the deputies to determine if additional charges will be filed against Hall.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of domestic disputes and the potential for violence. The community is on edge as they await further updates on the investigation and potential charges.
